Premium Fast Polyurethane Casting Resin for Professional Mould and Model Applications

Altropol NEUKADUR® MultiCast 3 is a two-component polyurethane fast-cast system that cures with NEUKADUR Hardener ISO 25 at room temperature (above 18 °C) into a white, hard end product with a hardness of Shore D 70. Resin and hardener are mixed 100 : 100 by weight. At approx. 80 mPa·s the mixture is very free-flowing, has a pot life of approx. 2 minutes (100 g) and can be demoulded after 15 minutes at 25 °C with a wall thickness of 4 to 5 mm. Despite the short pot life, MultiCast 3 cures through well, with a low linear dimensional change of 0.15%. For wall thicknesses above 5 mm, add NEUKADUR Filler B: filled, you reach Shore D 80 and can demould castings of 30 to 40 mm after approx. 30 minutes. MultiCast 3 is a universal choice for negatives, positives and moulds and models of all kinds.

Professional use: mandatory diisocyanate training

The hardener contains diisocyanates. Since 24 August 2023, industrial or professional users may only process this product after completing the mandatory training on the safe use of diisocyanates (REACH Annex XVII, entry 74). Processing instructions:

1. Stir NEUKADUR MultiCast 3 thoroughly before use until homogeneous; stir the hardener thoroughly as well.
2. Make sure the mould and parts are completely dry and free from non-evaporated release agent; polyurethane reacts with moisture.
3. Weigh resin and hardener in a ratio of 100 : 100 by weight and mix both components thoroughly at room temperature (above 18 °C).
4. Pour the mixture into the mould in a steady stream within the pot life of approx. 2 minutes (100 g), avoiding air entrapment.
5. Demould after approx. 15 minutes at 4 to 5 mm wall thickness (25 °C).
6. For castings thicker than 5 mm, use NEUKADUR Filler B: 100 parts resin, 100 parts hardener and 300 parts filler, preferably divided between both components. Filled, you have approx. 4 minutes pot life and can demould castings of 30 to 40 mm after approx. 30 minutes.

Store resin and hardener in the tightly closed original containers at 20 to 25 °C, dry and frost-free, and use opened containers as soon as possible. The shelf life is stated on the label; the first two digits of the batch number indicate the week, the third digit the year.
