    Size chart

A1 Triaxial glass fiber cloth is a three-layered fabric where the strands of each layer are in a 45o angle with the layer underneath. The layers themselves have strands in only one direction.

These cloths are strong parallel in the direction of the strands. However, it is not a woven piece of cloth and therefore less strong than a normal woven or twill woven glass fiber cloth.

Due to the mutually loose band and the absence of a weave, this mat can be draped better despite the thickness and is therefore more suitable for difficult shapes.

These glass mats are perfect for processing with a thicker resin such as acrylic resin. Acrylic resin and this triaxial mat give a nice cost-effective support cap for different purposes.
Naturally, this mat can also be used with all other resins.

The mat can also be used for silicone. Please note that fiberglass does not stretch. If you want to make silicone tear resistant, they will lose their stretchability!

    Safety
Glass fiber consists of glass. This means that microscopic glass splinters are formed during the build of the composite and/ or later processing (drilling, cutting,  sanding etc) of the endproduct. These are irritating to the skin and eyes and are especially harmful to the lungs when inhaled. We therefore recommend using a dust mask and sturdy gloves.

If the mat has already been treated with a resin, we also recommend using a mask with a gas filter to prevent fumes from escaping. It is aways important to work in a well ventilated area.
