Talcum Powder is a multifunctional material that can be used for many purposes. The powder is ideal to eliminate the non-slipping character of silicone, but can also be used for a fine discharge between two layers of addition silicones.
Applications:
Raising the anti-slip on the silicone forms
Silicones have a "non-slip" feature. Sometimes this is useful, but often this also causes the silicones tho deform when putting it down on a surface. It is also nice the work with talcum powder, when placing a silicon mold into a casing.
Release agent between the two layers of silicone
Once you've made a mold of addition silicone and you want to cast a model that includes silicone addition it is important that a good release is applied. Talcum powder will bring relief. Beyond that talcum powder for a fine discharge makes the gloss is retained in the mold on the model. Ideal!
Fluxing Stimulant at casting of metal
Talc is an ideal tool for stimulating the flow properties. The application of talcum powder makes the liquid metal (tin, aluminum, zinc alloy, etc ..) flow better along the "mold wall", and the final cast skin will be tighter and contains less air bubbles.
