Description
Silicone soft flex 00-30 is a 2-component (Platinum) Poly-Addition molding silicone which hardens at room temperature. The silicones are, after mixing, highly fluid and easy to process
Due to the short curing time, extremely good stretchability and the low hardness, this is an ideal silicone to serve as a skin for robotics, dolls and masks.
This product is colorless and therefore ideal for coloring with silicone pigments and flock.
Processing
The Silicone soft flex 00-30 can easily be mixed by hand or by machine. Mix the A and B components carefully and in the indicated ratio (100 parts A and 100 parts B). Process the mixture within the potlife and wait until the whole has hardened completely. You can possibly speed up the curing process by placing the whole in an oven. Please note that in this case, air bubbles will have less time to escape.
The short processing time makes this silicone also very suitable for processing on the skin. Ensure that hairs do not get caught in the silicone.
Extra information
Note: This is an addition silicone. These silicones can be poisoned by sulphur, nitrogen, amino compounds and metal salts. If you are unsure whether the products you use (including gloves, spatulas and cups) contain these ingredients, then do a small test first. These substances are found in many latex gloves, some plastilines, lacquers and adhesives, condensation silicone, 1-component silicone sealant, natural rubbers and 3D printing material (especially stereolithographic). If you want to use this, you will need to put on a protective layer of poly vinyl alcohol.
Although the above warning applies to all addition-hardening (platinum) silicones, these silicones suffer much less from poisoning and can be used in many situations.
Packing
The products are packaged in sets of 1kg, 2kg, 10 Kg. The components cannot be ordered separately. For larger packages we ask you to contact us through the site.
Shelf life
Provided the silicones are stored in closed packaging, cool and frost-free, the shelf life is at least 1 year.
Safety Requirements
If you frequently work with the silicone, it is recommended to wear gloves and to ventilate the room well during processing. For safety instructions, consult the safety data sheet.
Please be careful to avoid material contact with the eyes! Wear the proper protective clothing.
