Product description

Glass Fibres 6 mm.

Glass fibres 6 mm can be used to reinforce all kinds of resins like Acrylic, polyester, pu, epoxy and even silicone.

  • Cheap filler
  • Easy to measure out

Acrylic resin with glass fibres and glas fibre cloth is a strong cheap way to build a support shell for your flexible silicone mold.

Please note that glassfibre cannot be stretched. If you want to add these fibres to silicone it will lose its elasticity.

Specifications

  • Density: 0.56 g/m3
  • Length: 6 mm
  • Thickness: 14.0 μm
  • Color: The product should be white to off-white in color.
  • The cutting length is fixed in the process setup and is therefore not routinely tested. The nominal cut length does not vary more than ± 1 mm for 6.0 mm.

Safety
Glass fiber consists of glass. This means that microscopic glass splinters are formed during the build of the composite and/ or later processing (drilling, cutting,  sanding etc) of the endproduct. These are irritating to the skin and eyes and are especially harmful to the lungs when inhaled. We therefore recommend using a dust mask and sturdy gloves.

If the fibres has already been treated with a resin, we also recommend using a mask with a gas filter to prevent fumes from escaping. It is aways important to work in a well ventilated area.
