Product description

Bronze powder - Copy

This bronze powder consists of 100% bronze. Due to its fine composition, this bronze powder can be used for mixing in, for example, paints, lacquers, casting resins and plasters. Then you can sand the whole thing and apply a patina.

Metal powder can be used to make an object heavier, or to give a certain appearance to an object.

Specifications

Grain size: <0.063 mm.
Bulk density: 5 gr./cm³
Soluble: Insoluble in water
Melting point: ca. 900°C

Processing

When processing, pay attention to the weight of the metal powder. Metal will often sink to the bottom.
With a high addition of metal powder to casting resins or plaster, the end result will become more fragile.

Processing in acrylic resin:

With the A and B component of the acrylic resin in proportion. Add the same weight of metal powder as the weight of the total acrylic resin mixture. For example 1.5 kg. tempered acrylic resin with 1.5 kg. metal powder.

Speed up the rusting process: this can be done with hydrochloric acid or ammonia. (Consider your own safety)
This process can be stopped by rinsing with water or soda.
You can apply a sealer to maintain the effect.
By not applying a sealer, the rusting process will continue in a natural way.
